Construction Estimator – Independent Consultant

About the Opportunity

We seek an experienced, resourceful, business-minded construction estimator to identify project opportunities and expand our residential construction and remodeling business. This is more than a traditional estimating position: business development and customer relationships are core responsibilities.

What You Will Do

• Identify prospective homeowners, property owners, developers, investors, and referral partners.
• Develop relationships and identify residential remodeling, kitchen, bathroom, basement, and custom home-building opportunities.
• Conduct preliminary project assessments and gather project information.
• Review drawings, specifications, measurements, and project requirements.
• Prepare construction estimates, material takeoffs, and preliminary budgets.
• Coordinate labor, materials, subcontractors, and project costs with KDB management.
• Present proposals and estimates, follow up with prospects, and assist in converting estimates into signed contracts.
• Maintain a project pipeline and provide periodic updates to KDB management.

Who We Are Looking For

• Residential construction estimating, remodeling, and new home construction experience.
• Ability to read construction drawings and specifications.
• Knowledge of materials, labor costs, and subcontractor pricing.
• Strong communication, relationship-building, and business development skills.
• Proficiency with estimating software, spreadsheets, or construction cost databases.
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities.

Business development, sales, or construction project management experience is a plus.

Compensation Structure

This is an independent consulting opportunity. Set your own schedule and operate independently. There is no traditional hourly wage or fixed salary.

Compensation is earned on qualifying projects successfully secured by KDB and paid by the customer. It is tied to actual collected revenue, not submitted estimates or unsigned proposals.

The commission structure, payment terms, and qualifying project requirements will be established in a written independent contractor agreement before work begins.
